Breathwork is simply, breathing with conscious awareness. There are many different types of breathwork of which have been used for thousands of years. Conscious breathing provides unlimited benefits for mental, emotional, physical and spiritual healing.
Breath is always with us from the minute we are born to our last breath. It is our life force, life giving energy. It is the bridge between spiritual and physical realms. When we consciously or actively breath, it becomes a very powerful technique that accesses the body’s natural intelligence to heal itself.
When we control the breath, we control our physiology. When we breathe consciously, we stimulate the nervous system and influence our repair capabilities. This practice also has the potential to stimulate the influx of “feel good” hormones such as oxytocin, serotonin, melatonin, and dimethyltriptomine, all of which are highly beneficial for physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Somatic Breathwork is a transformative practice that holds the key to unlocking tension, stress, emotions and trauma that might be stuck in the physical body. This particular breathwork can help specifically with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma release, increase energy, chronic pain, immune function, insomnia, connection to intuition and creativity, and the experience of altered state of consciousness.
This two hour experience begins with simple grounding practice followed by relaxation of the body in a nourishing and supported lying down position. We then invite conscious active breathing for an extended period of time (30-40 minutes), ending with relaxation, grounding and reflection.
Please reach out with any questions,
love,
Marcy
